The Dead Internet Theory suggests that most of the content and interactions online are created by AI and bots instead of real people. Supporters of this idea believe that real human activity on the internet has gone down a lot, with automated systems taking over to mimic how humans behave.

Everyday this theory becomes more true, with the most recent evidence showcased on Google.

A user searched “baby peacock” and majority of the images were AI generated.

And it’s not just images being created by AI…have you seen Twitter or LinkedIn lately?

The replies scream AI-generated.

Of course this is nothing more than a theory, but one has to wonder…how much human activity is there online?

Adobe's initiative aims to create a robust method for artists to certify their creations and maintain control over their use in AI training datasets.

🧬 Scientists who built ‘foundation’ for AI awarded Nobel Prize (LINK)

Geoffrey Hinton and John Hopfield have been awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics for their groundbreaking work in machine learning and artificial neural networks. Their research laid the foundation for modern AI systems, enabling computers to learn from examples and identify complex patterns.

  • Hinton developed the Boltzmann machine, which can classify and generate images based on statistical principles.

  • Hopfield created the Hopfield network, capable of reconstructing patterns using concepts from atomic spin physics.

  • Despite his contributions, Hinton has expressed concerns about AI's potential dangers and left Google in 2023 to speak out about these risks.
