AI ON MY MIND
Happy Monday!
Software is dying.
Not because people don’t use it, but because people can now build their own personal softwares.
This shift is an incredible one…
Now instead of searching for the perfect software for your particular use case, you can just build it with tools like Bolt.new and Lovable.dev.
These tools turn your ideas into code. You tell them what you want, and they write the software for you. It's like having a robot assistant who knows how to code.
Bolt.new is great for making things look good and work fast. It's perfect if you want to test an idea quickly or build a cool website. Lovable.dev is better for bigger projects. It helps you make full apps with all the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes them run smoothly.
But here's something to think about: Is making your own software always better than buying it?
This is a question you’ll have to ask yourself now that we all have access to these tools.
Sometimes, yes. You can save money and get exactly what you want. Other times, buying might be smarter. Ready-made software often has features you didn't know you needed.
The real trick is knowing when to build and when to buy.
As AI tools get better, that choice gets more interesting. What do you think? Would you try building your own software with AI?

TODAY’S TOP STORIES

💻 Meta Plans to Launch Standalone AI App
Meta is set to release a standalone AI app in Q2 2025, marking a significant move in the competitive AI landscape. This new app is part of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's strategy to establish Meta as a leader in AI by the end of the year. The company is also considering offering potential subscription options, similar to services provided by OpenAI and Google.
The standalone Meta AI app is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2025.
Meta aims to compete directly with AI offerings from rivals like OpenAI and Google.
The app will include a paid subscription service, testing new revenue streams in the AI market.
My Opinion: I don’t know if we need another standalone app from meta. But it would be funny if OpenAI created their own app.

💻 Microsoft Warns Trump Against 'Strategic Misstep' in AI Race
Microsoft has cautioned the Trump administration about potential strategic errors that could hinder the U.S. competitive edge in the global AI race. The tech giant is urging against implementing export controls on artificial intelligence chips, arguing that such restrictions could inadvertently benefit China's rapidly expanding AI sector.
Microsoft emphasizes that easing curbs on U.S. chips used in AI training would maintain the U.S.'s competitive advantage.
The company warns that strict export controls could give China a strategic advantage in AI development.
This highlights the delicate balance between national security concerns and maintaining technological leadership.
My Opinion: It's crucial for policymakers to carefully consider the long-term implications of their decisions on the AI industry…But historically laws move way too slow so I have fears that policymakers will be too late to the party.

💻 OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Says the Company is 'Out of GPUs'
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced that the company is currently facing a shortage of GPUs, which is affecting the rollout of their newest model, GPT-4.5. This revelation highlights the increasing demand for powerful computing resources in the AI industry and the challenges companies face in scaling their operations.
OpenAI needs to acquire tens of thousands more GPUs before additional users can access GPT-4.5.
The GPU shortage is leading to a staggered rollout of OpenAI's latest AI model.
This situation reflects broader challenges in the availability of GPUs in the market.
My Opinion: Uhhh what? They raised how many billions? Kinda crazy they don’t have GPU’s.
