✨ Our Favorite Transcription Service

Today’s tutorial will show you one of our favorite tools to create transcriptions. The best part is it’s 100% free. 

The tool is called AssemblyAI. 

Our primary use case for this tool is to take YouTube videos or Zoom recordings and have Assembly transcribe the content. 

Once you decide which content piece you want to transcribe, head to Assembly Playground, located at the top navigation menu bar. 

The playground is a free service, so you don’t have to use this feature to sign up for an account. 

Upload your file. Then, select the model you want to use. You can choose from:

Audio Transcription - The AssemblyAI speech recognition model can quickly turn pre-recorded audio into text, achieving human-level accuracy.

Speaker Diarization - Identifies and separates different speakers within an audio recording.

Topic Detection - Automatically detects the main topics discussed in a transcript or document.

Entity Detection - Identifies and extracts named entities (people, organizations, locations, etc.) from text.

Automated Punctuation and Casing - Adds punctuation and capitalization to transcribed text.

Content Moderation - Detects potentially offensive or inappropriate content in text or audio.

Sentiment Analysis - Analyze the sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) expressed in text or audio.

Text Summarization - Generates concise summaries of longer text passages.

And more. 

We usually select audio transcription. 

Keep in mind you can add MP3 or MP4 files. 

Once you add your file, click “Transcribe.”

It should take about 2 minutes to complete, depending on the file size. 

Once it’s done, you’ll have your transcribed file:

The cool thing about this is you can use the Assembly chatbot, LeMUR, to converse with the file. 

You can also copy and paste the transcribed file into ChatGPT or Claude to generate content based on the transcription. 

This tool is handy and should be in your AI toolbox.

It’s speed, capabilities & context length are unmatched now in the market.

We think this trend will continue until GPT-5 releases.

Hmmm…We thought OpenAI would have made payments to creators of GPT’s.

Elon Musk has now said Grok will be available for free.

He seems to want people to use the AI model.

If we’re being honest, we don’t think Grok will take off. It comes off as more of a meme than a useful tool compared to ChatGPT and Claude.
