Thursday’s Top Story: Word on the street is Stability AI, the generative AI company behind the popular Stable Diffusion model, reportedly ran out of cash to pay its massive cloud computing bills, leading to the downfall of its former CEO, Emad Mostaque.
Stability AI was spending around $99 million per year to rent GPU infrastructure from cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and CoreWeave, but it was only projected to generate $11 million in revenue in 2023.
