Google is Dying
And the AI tool you need to know about...
Issue:
Google Is Dying And AI Is The Cause
Hi AI’ers. Welcome back to another issue. Today we want to talk about the Google Killer.
Yes, that’s right.
We think there is an AI tool that will dethrone Google.
It might not happen immediately but as AI adoption continues to skyrocket, Google will no longer have a monopoly on search.
The process of today's search is archaic and takes too much.
AI changes that.

How You Search The Internet Is Changing
⚰️ The AI Google Killer
Just Google it.
That’s what the average person says.
But you’re not average, because you’re reading this newsletter.
You are someone who wants to know the next big AI trends and it’s here…it’s called Perplexity.
But it’s not perplexing.
It's quite easy actually. Similar to Google you can use Perplexity to find information.
The difference is Perplexity uses AI to find the best sources relevant to your question and then provides the best answer based on its findings.
So you no longer have to scroll and search for the best link…only realize there are thousands of ads and sponsorships littered throughout the post.
Perplexity is open source, meaning, there are no ads or sponsorships.
Instead, you can use their free plan or pay to use their advanced AI features like co-pilot.
Say you’re looking for an easy chicken recipe to cook, you can ask Perplexity:
You see that it provided the sources and an answer based on that source.
You can then research further by clicking the source or ask Perplexity to expand upon the recipe by using their “Ask follow-up…” function.
But Perplexity is not just for searching, it’s also a Large Language Model meaning it can act like ChatGPT.
Here’s another real-life example we use every day for Best of AI.
Sometimes when we are adding websites to our database of AI tools, the website doesn’t have enough information for our ChatGPT API connection to create the summary.
If that is the case the tool will be added to our database but it will be incomplete.
So how do we fix this?
We prompt Perplexity to search the website and then put the findings/summary of the website in HTML format so we can add it to our database.
Perplexity will go search the site and put its findings in HTML format for us.
This takes less than 60 seconds and then we can add the HTML to our database.
The best part is Perplexity, unlike ChatGPT in some cases, is up to date on all recent news so the information is super relevant.
This is why we think tools like Perplexity will eat away at Google slowly.
The access to information that's sourced, relevant, and clearly presented is unmatched.
We’re not the only one who believes this to be true:
Steven Tey, the co-founder of Vercel, tried to use the same input in Perplexity vs Google.
Google didn’t even give him a response back.
People from all industries are noticing how bad Google's responses have been…
A new study by German researchers found that Google Search is plagued with SEO spam.
Even some of the top engineers at Google are calling out Google for their lack of leadership.
All this is to say that Google is facing troublesome times.
Do we think AI will immediately destroy Google, no.
But it’s safe to say when there are AI tools like Perplexity that can do the work for you in half the time, why would anyone use Google knowing how hard it may be to find a genuine answer?
All we know is that Perplexity is one of our top go-to tools and it should be for you too.
