Today, we want to show you how to create a mind map with ChatGPT. It’s a simple but powerful process, especially for business.
First, start by collecting the data you want to turn into a mindmap. This can be a prompt response from ChatGPT or data that you already have.
For example, let’s say we want to turn our prompt guidelines into a mindmap.
As a reminder, here are those guidelines:
Desired Output: Clearly mention what you expect in the response. For instance, rather than asking for a "LinkedIn post," be specific about the tone and content you desire.
Constraints: Set limits like the maximum word count, the subject, or mention what you don't want in the response.
Context: Give ChatGPT a backdrop – explain the why, offer details about yourself, or inform it about your audience.
Examples: To ensure accuracy, offer a sample of what you’re aiming for.
Formatting Details: Let ChatGPT know if you have a specific structure in mind, like the inclusion of subheadings or a particular layout.
Now that we have what we want to turn into a mindmap, you want to enter the following prompt into ChatGPT:
Create a mindmap of this process.
List the topics as central idea, main branches, and subbranches
Also, output the same mindmap in raw markdown format for copying. The image below clearly illustrates the prompt in action.
The result looks like this:
Now that we have the markdown (the text in the black box), we can click on “Copy code”.
We will then want to visit a site to turn our markdown into a mindmap. The site we will use to do this is called markmap.
Click “Try it out,” and then you’ll see a screen like this.
Delete the markdown in the left box. Then, paste the markdown that we got from ChatGPT.
It will look like this:
Now, we have a mindmap that we can download as an SVG or HTML to visualize any topic.
