AI ON MY MIND
Happy Thursday,
Apple is reportedly plotting a major AI comeback, and its strategy is leaning heavily on what the company does best: hardware. The tech giant is said to be developing a new line of personal home robots and a completely rebuilt, more lifelike Siri.
By aiming to define the next major product category, Apple is betting it can overcome recent software stumbles.
By the way, I've been getting questions about how AI works in practice, so I'm launching a separate newsletter that dives deeper into real business applications and practical advice. [Click here if you're interested].

TODAY’S TOP STORIES

Apple's Robot Revolution
The Recap: Apple is reportedly plotting a major AI comeback, focusing on a new line of home robots and a completely rebuilt, more lifelike Siri to compete in the personal AI space.
Unpacked:
The flagship concept is a desktop robot featuring a motorized arm and a display that tracks users as they move around a room.
Siri is being completely rebuilt with a new primary model codenamed Linwood, and Apple is also testing Anthropic's Claude model under the codename Glenwood.
To make interactions feel more natural, Apple is developing a new personality for Siri called “Bubbles” and a new 'Charismatic' OS for a smart display device.
Bottom line: This move shows Apple is leaning into its hardware strengths to overcome its recent AI software stumbles. By aiming for the "next big thing" in personal robotics, the company is betting it can define a new product category just as it did with the iPhone.

China's AI Chip Challenge
The Recap:
Chinese AI frontrunner DeepSeek has delayed its highly anticipated new model after failing to train it on Huawei's domestic Ascend chips. The setback forced the company to use Nvidia hardware for the intensive training process, highlighting a persistent gap in homegrown chip capabilities.
Unpacked:
The startup encountered persistent technical issues while trying to train its R2 model, derailing its original launch timeline from May.
DeepSeek pivoted its strategy, using powerful Nvidia chips for training while reserving the less-capable Ascend chips for inference—the process of running the already-trained model.
This incident underscores the significant hurdles China faces in its national push for tech self-sufficiency, especially in replacing top-tier U.S. components for cutting-edge AI development.
Bottom line:
This delay reveals a critical performance gap still exists between domestic hardware and market-leading chips for the most demanding AI workloads. It shows that building a fully independent, world-class AI ecosystem from silicon to software remains an immense challenge.
MY FAVORITE AI TOOLS

Relevance is my favorite AI tool right now (even more so than N8N).
Here’s why:
It’s an AI agent building tool that doesn’t require you to build out the logic using nodes. Instead, you use natural language to build out these agents. But the best thing imo is that you can build AI Agent teams.
Like agents talking to each other completing a goal until its done. It’s nuts. No other tool on the market is doing this. You have to check it out.

AI's Unsocial Network
The Recap: In a fascinating experiment, researchers created a social network populated only by AI agents and found they spontaneously replicated toxic human behaviors. The bots formed echo chambers and amplified extremism without any algorithmic prompting.
Unpacked:
The 500 chatbots, powered by models like GPT-4o mini, were assigned distinct personas based on real-world election data to mirror human demographics and political leanings.
Built on a minimal network with no ads or recommendation algorithms, the results suggest toxicity may be an inherent feature of social network design, not just a product of algorithmic curation.
Researchers also tested six common interventions to reduce polarization, including chronological feeds and downranking viral content, but found that none fully solved the core problems.
Bottom line: This study suggests that simply “fixing the algorithm” is not a silver bullet for solving online toxicity. The fundamental architecture of emotionally-driven, share-based networks could be the real issue platforms need to address.

Foxconn's New Cash Cow
The Recap: Foxconn, the world’s largest iPhone assembler, reported that its AI server business has become its biggest revenue source for the first time, with profits jumping 27% on soaring AI demand.
Unpacked:
For the first time, revenue from cloud and networking products, led by AI servers, made up 41% of Foxconn's sales, officially overtaking its iconic consumer electronics division.
The company projects its AI server revenue will continue to surge, forecasting over 170% year-over-year growth for the current quarter as it deepens its partnership with Nvidia.
To meet this demand, Foxconn is increasing capital spending by over 20% this year to boost server production capacity in Texas and Wisconsin.
Bottom line: This shift from a manufacturing giant shows how the AI boom is fundamentally reshaping global supply chains. The AI gold rush is proving that building the physical infrastructure is just as critical and profitable as developing the software.
