This week is election week in the United States, and the conversations are buzzing.

Today, I heard a take that I hadn’t come across before—one that could hint at the future of governance.

We often talk about living in a capitalist society, and that’s still true.

But we’re also moving into a new era, one where AI might be tasked with solving our biggest challenges. Imagine a time in our lifetimes where AI could handle government responsibilities—even taking on the role of president.

An AI president sounds interesting in theory.

But, at the end of the day, AI is still just code. What happens if that code gets hacked, tampered with, or, worse, decides to go rogue?

Could we face a scenario where an AI starts to see humans as the problem, not the solution?

It’s unsettling to think about.

And as these models become more advanced, working together with autonomous agents, it doesn’t seem so far-fetched.

We've always controlled the computers; they’ve never controlled us.

But maybe, in the next 5–10 years, a president will be bold enough to give AI a shot at leadership.

This partnership marks a significant shift in Apple's AI strategy, though interestingly, Apple isn't paying OpenAI in cash but rather in exposure. The integration will allow free ChatGPT features while premium features will cost users $20 monthly through an in-app subscription.
