ProKYC, a threat actor, is selling a deepfake tool in the cybercriminal underground to bypass two-factor authentication for account fraud attacks. This tool specifically targets cryptocurrency exchanges, enabling the creation of synthetic accounts for money laundering and other fraudulent activities. The sophisticated technology can generate fake government-issued documents and videos for facial recognition, posing a significant threat to financial institutions.

It can produce videos that pass facial recognition challenges.
New account fraud resulted in $5.3 billion in losses in 2023, up from $3.9 billion in 2022.

Repetitive language and overuse of transitional words
Very few typos or errors compared to human writing
Generic, overly polite tone
Inconsistencies in style or factual errors
