AI ON MY MIND
With Claude and Microsoft releasing their own autonomous agents its clear the next wave of AI, is agents.
I was talking to my friend, Ted, who is an AI researcher.
He’s really passionate about AI and AI agents. So I asked him if he could explain the differences between them.
The guy is brilliant so I was excited he was willing to break it down for us.
Here’s what he had to say:
Thanks Ted.
People always ask me where I learn about AI and Ted is one of sources.

TODAY’S TOP STORIES
💧 Google adds new disclosures for AI photos, but it’s still not obvious at first glance
Google is implementing new AI photo editing disclosures in Google Photos, marking when images are modified using features like Magic Editor and Magic Eraser, though these indicators remain subtle and confined to the Details section.
The update comes as a response to concerns about transparency in AI-modified content, but falls short of including visible watermarks within the actual photos.
While metadata will contain this information, the lack of immediate visual indicators means users scrolling through social media or messages won't readily know if an image has been AI-enhanced.
The new disclosure system will be implemented next week, specifically highlighting when photos are "Edited with Google AI" in the Details section.
Features like Best Take and Add Me will have editing indicators in metadata but not under the Details tab.
While metadata watermarks are included, they can be easily overlooked as most users don't check photo details while browsing.
👨💻 Asana launches a no-code tool for designing AI agents - aka your new 'teammates'
Asana has introduced a no-code tool that allows users to design AI agents, effectively creating virtual teammates to assist with various tasks. This new feature empowers users to customize AI agents for specific roles and responsibilities within their workflows.
The tool enables users to define an agent's purpose, provide context, and set guidelines for its behavior.
Asana's AI agents can access project data, task lists, and team communications to provide relevant assistance.
The feature is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing Asana workflows, enhancing productivity without disrupting established processes.
⚠️ Former OpenAI researcher says company violated copyright law and destroyed the internet
Former OpenAI researcher Suchir Balaji claims the company violated copyright laws through its training practices and damaged the internet ecosystem by undermining the commercial viability of content creators and businesses.
After working on GPT-4 for four years, Balaji left OpenAI this summer, concluding that ChatGPT's outputs fail to meet "fair use" standards and compete directly with original copyrighted works.
The issue has sparked multiple lawsuits from authors, publishers, and media companies, including The New York Times, challenging OpenAI's use of copyrighted material for AI training.
Balaji argues that AI companies are destroying the commercial sustainability of individuals and businesses that created the training data.
OpenAI maintains its practices are protected by fair use principles and necessary for U.S. competitiveness.
The outcome of ongoing lawsuits could fundamentally reshape how AI companies access and use copyrighted material.
